Mise-en-scene: casting details, location scouting with photographs, props, costume and make-up, lighting

Mise-en-scene:
 The main aim of the music video is to show a fast paced video with city life slowed down to country side life. The contrast between traditional music video to low budget.

Tooth brush,

Balaclavas
Costume:
Costume will be street fashion mixed with some ideas of gang culture for instance such as balaclavas but also sport brands.
make-up:
Make up will be very little to none for Ishan; the reason for this is because it shows the true reality. Vandna on the other hand may have a little bit more make-up in order to make her stand out.
Lighting:
The lighting will be based on natural lighting where applicable this will be done in order to ensure that we show the reality of true low budget music videos. Natural lighting will also be very beneficial in ensuring high quality shots which don’t have noise in them.

Recreation video feedback

Grade: B

1) Why did you choose this particular recreation and how does it link to your main production?

my CI is about google glass and about how Google records , therefore the video had to consist of Pov in order for it target my video.

I chose to work with vandna and Ishan as the video She by Tyler the Creator links to i did the CI as it involves POV shots and Ishan's as it is alternative music and links to his CI directly as he focused on Tyler the Creator.

2) What difficulties did you face in producing this recreation?

In the process, we learnt and practised more about different camera shots e.g. POV shots.

3) What are the strengths of the production?

WWW:
Exact timing of task (30 seconds)
Correct hand gestures and facial expressions
Effective editing/camerawork
Accurate shots
Strong camerawork
Good setting/location

4) What aspects would you look to improve?

EBI:
Lip syncing
Colour correction
Closer to the real costumes for linked production
Missed camera angles e.g. low angle
Mise en scene
5) What lessons will you take from this process that will help you with your main production?


Next time, we need to work on lip syncing as it could be improved to match the song.
